Born in Mexico City and shaped by the cultures of both Mexico and New York, Andrea brings a vibrant energy and multicultural perspective to everything she does. With degrees in Psychology and Graphic Design, she combines her deep understanding of how children think and learn with a creative and engaging teaching style that meets every child’s unique way of learning.
When she moved to California, Andrea became very involved in her children’s Montessori school. It was there that she quickly discovered her true calling: teaching. She went on to become a certified Montessori teacher and began her career at a leading Montessori school in Manhattan Beach. She quickly became known for her nurturing approach and the lasting impact she had on her students. A few years later, she was asked to lead the school’s Spanish program, where she developed a dynamic, hands-on curriculum that made language learning exciting and fun.
Andrea relocated to Palos Verdes with her family the same year that Elementary public schools eliminated Spanish from the curriculum. Knowing the importance of bilingualism, she founded an after-school Spanish Immersion program for kids called Funtastico, becoming one of the most trusted and beloved Spanish programs in the South Bay.
Andrea’s passion for helping children thrive has only grown over the years. In response to the increasing need for literacy support, she completed specialized training in reading instruction and dyslexia intervention. Today, through Funtastico Learning, she offers three powerful paths: fun, immersive Spanish classes that spark a love for language, an Early Literacy Program designed to give young learners a nurturing and inspiring start to their literacy journey, and personalized reading support that helps struggling readers build confidence and find success.
Both of my children, now in college, spent their elementary years learning Spanish with Andrea at Funtastico. Not only did they enjoy every class, but their foundation was so strong that both went on to successfully pass the AP Spanish Language exam in high school.
Andrea has a true gift for teaching—she makes learning fun and engaging while ensuring her students are consistently challenged.
The long-term impact has been remarkable. My daughter, now a college junior, is spending a year abroad in Spain and feels confident and well-prepared to thrive there.
We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Andrea, she has that rare magic touch— I cannot recommend Funtastico highly enough!

Our daughter struggled in school for years without anyone noticing. When we met Mrs. Andrea, she recognized possible signs of dyslexia and dyscalculia that had been overlooked. At the time, our daughter was in fourth grade, reading at a kindergarten level. Two years later, she is much closer to grade level and, most importantly, has found the confidence she needed to believe in herself and thrive!
Thank you, Mrs. Andrea

Funtastico has been an amazing experience for my kids! They love going to class and are learning Spanish so quickly. The program is fun, engaging, and keeps children excited about learning. Maestra Andrea is truly the best—she is patient, kind, and knows how to connect with the kids, making them feel confident and motivated. We are so grateful to have found Funtastico and highly recommend it!
